Free Flight

He twisted the throttle
and spread his wings.
Like a darting starling,
he flew
into the freedom
of the highway.
His thunder rumbled
as he settled his speed.
Ride of the Valkrie echoed
through his mind’s ear.
His frown was melted away
by the steady caress
of the wind.
Freedom.
Flight.
Ride to live.
Living free.
Live to ride.
Free.
